Morigaon (Assam): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday lashed out at All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal in Morigaon. Addressing a public meeting, the Chief Minister of Assam said that in order to provide justice to Muslim women, there is a need to change the system of men marrying three-four women.
Sarma said, “A man living in independent India cannot have any right to marry three-four women (without divorcing the ex-husband) and we have to change such a system. Muslim women. If Muslim girls are asked to wear hijab, why don’t boys also wear the same thing? Muslim girls can’t study in school and Muslim men will marry 2-3 women, we are against this system. We want ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.”
Sarma hit out at the AIUDF chief, saying there are some leaders in Assam like Badruddin Ajmal, who said that women should give birth to children as soon as possible. He said that our women can give birth to 20-25 children, but Ajmal will have to bear their food, clothes, education and all other expenses and then we have no problem.
The Assam CM further said, “If Ajmal will not pay the expenses, then no one has the right to lecture on child birth. We will only produce as many children as we can provide food and make them better human beings.” Huh.”
He said that many MLAs in Assam want Pomuah Muslims to vote and they do not want to give good suggestions, “But we do not want their vote and we want to give good suggestions from a neutral position that, make your vote.” Make children Junab, Imam, make your children doctors, engineers and make them better human beings.
The Chief Minister further said, ‘We are trying to bring forward ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. We do not want the students of Pomua Muslim to become Junab Imams after studying in madrassas. We want them to study in schools. College and studying in Morigaon Medical College so that they can become doctors and engineers.”
Earlier on December 2, Ajmal had advised Hindus to follow the Muslim formula and get their children married at an early age to produce more children. AIUDF chief Ajmal recently responded to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s comments on “love jihad” in the context of the Shraddha Walker murder, saying, “The Chief Minister also said that he would support Al-Qaeda in Assam.” Very concerned to see the activities of the Morigaon madrasa.

Chief Minister Sarma laid the foundation stone of 12 developmental projects worth Rs 910.13 crore under the “Bikakhor Babe Etah Pokhek” initiative launched by the Assam government, besides laying the foundation stone of a new medical college and hospital at Morigaon, at a function organized in Morigaon district. Upgradation of Government Polytechnics and ITIs at Jagrod and Manipur into a mini stadium and centers of excellence.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that it is targeted to make the Medical College and Hospital functional before the assembly elections in 2026 and there are plans to set up a Cancer Hospital, BSC Nursing College, GNM Nursing School and a Dental College. He informed that the government will start enrolling new beneficiaries under the Orunodoi scheme from December 12 and a total of 18,000 beneficiaries will be covered from Jagiroad, Morigaon and Lahorighat assembly constituencies.
The Chief Minister of Assam said that the Assam government is working with the aim of providing government jobs to one lakh youth and self-employment to 5 lakh youth, besides inaugurating the Morigaon district BJP office during his visit.
