Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has announced that if voted to power, all households will get 300 units of electricity free, while farmers will get free electricity for irrigation. The former Chief Minister made this announcement while addressing the SP workers who had come to the party office in Lucknow on Saturday to wish him a Happy New Year.
Akhilesh said, “There are two promises that are going to be part of our manifesto: first that 300 units of electricity will be free for the common people of the state, while farmers will get free electricity for irrigation.”
The SP chief made this announcement after only a few days were left for the Model Code of Conduct to come into force. The SP is yet to release its full manifesto for the assembly elections. He said, “I want to extend a very Happy New Year to all the people of Uttar Pradesh. But today a very sad news came about the stampede in Vaishno Devi in which many people lost their lives. I express my condolences to their families. I want. The year 2021 was painful, including the pain of Corona which many of us witnessed. No business could recover and even the government failed to help the people.
“The BJP knows that it cannot compete, hence the raids are being conducted. BJP people have spread lies about a businessman belonging to SP, they wanted to raid a SP man but ended their own raid. All the cash recovered belongs to the BJP,” he said while attacking the BJP over the GST intelligence and IT raids conducted on Kanpur-based perfume trader Piyush Jain.
During these raids, Rs 177 crore was recovered including cash, gold and silver, after which Jain was arrested. BJP leaders had claimed that Jain was associated with the SP and sometime back he had also launched a ‘Samajwadi’ perfume in the SP.
However, the SP said that the person who launched the perfume was former SP MLC Pushpraj Jain alias Pumpy. However, Pushpraj also had to face raids by the GST Intelligence Department on Friday.
