Tension prevailed in Uttar Pradesh’s Gulavathi area of the district on Thursday after idols were found damaged in four temples.
He said that additional police force has been sent to the spot to maintain law and order.
Senior officers are also at the spot to take stock of the situation.
“Unknown miscreants damaged some idols in four temples of Baral village under Gulavathi police station area in the early hours of Thursday. Forensic unit has also been called and we are probing the matter.”
Additional Superintendent of Police Surendra Nath Tiwari said.
