Idaho student stabbing suspect Brian Christopher Kohberger beats Indiana police twice

A report from US based news media outlets WXIN And this hill Said Wednesday that 28-year-old Brian Christopher Kohberger, the suspect in the Idaho student stabbing, had a brush with police in the US state of Indiana while he was on his way back to Pennsylvania with his father in December 2022.

The murder of four University of Idaho students in the small town of Moscow has drawn national and international attention. Kaylee Goncalves, 21; Madison Mogen, 21; Zana Kurnodl, 20; and Kernodle’s boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20, was murdered in his sleep on 13 November and police made their first arrest in the case on 30 December.

Kohberger, a graduate student at Washington State University, is suspected of killing four students where he was living with two other students. As per news reports, he is also a PhD candidate in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology.

The report states that Kohberger and his father were in a white Hyundai Elantra on December 15 when Indiana police officers confronted them. Media reports had earlier stated that a white Hyundai Elantra was seen in the vicinity of the residence where the four college students were murdered.

The Indiana State Police and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that they stopped Kohberger and his father twice within nine minutes, and in both cases they were given a ‘verbal warning’. Kohberger was the driver in both instances.

He was pulled over once for following a vehicle too close and once for speeding. He was not issued a parking ticket in any case.

Kohberger’s father came from Washington to assist his son, who wanted to cover the 2,500 miles from Washington State to Pennsylvania. Indiana State Police released body camera footage of the second incident and plan to send it to their Idaho counterparts to see if it will be relevant to the investigation.

The notification regarding the white Hyundai Elantra was released on 17th December.

Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke, who were inside the home at the time of the murders, slept through the entire incident. Police believe that they are important in solving the mystery of the murder.

There were no signs of sexual assault and the coroner said the victims also had some defensive wounds, meaning they resisted when they were attacked.

Kohberger is expected to waive extradition so he can be returned to Idaho to face charges. He is facing four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary, hill And WXIN Reported.
