The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has reported that non-Covid patients faced difficulty in treatment during the lockdown. According to a new study by IMCR, two-thirds of non-Covid patients faced difficulties in routine checkups and hospital visits due to the lockdown.

69% of non-Covid patients included in the study had routine checkups, 67% had day-care procedures and 61% had difficulty reaching the hospital. At the same time, 59% had to go through challenges such as delay in doctor’s appointment, 56% for emergency treatment, 47% for medicines and 46% in healthcare. ICMR said that people with chronic non-communicable disease had to face many challenges during this period.

The first phase of the lockdown started on 25 March 2020
During the first wave of the corona epidemic in the country, a lockdown was imposed in the entire country in March 2020. The first lockdown was imposed for 21 days. Later it was extended for another 19 days. Its first phase was applicable from 25 March to 14 April and the second phase lasted from 15 April to 3 May. Even after this, the lockdown remained in force with some concessions in different phases. There is still a situation like lockdown in many parts of the country.

Fear of third wave of corona in the country
At present, the peak of the second phase of the corona epidemic is over and a third wave is expected. There has been a slight decrease in corona cases in the country in the last 24 hours. 36,028 new patients were found on Sunday. 39,828 were cured and 447 infected lost their lives. This was the third consecutive day, when more patients were cured than new patients.

The number of new patients is the lowest in the last 14 days
It is also a matter of relief that the number of new patients is the lowest in the last 14 days. Earlier on July 26, the corona report of 30,820 people came positive. Cases have also come down in Kerala. Here on Sunday, the corona report of 18,607 patients came positive. 20,108 were cured and 93 died. A day before this, 20,367 cases had come here.
