Captain Babar forms the top order along with Australia’s Travis Head. Babar scored 8 fifty plus scores in 9 matches and ended the year 2022 with 679 runs at an impressive average of 84.87. Head re-established himself brilliantly as an opening batsman in ODIs, becoming one of Australia’s most consistent batsmen in the format. He scored 550 runs in nine matches at an average of 68.75.

Shai Hope of the West Indies stayed at No.4. 3. He didn’t have the greatest of starts in 2022, but scored 709 runs at 35.45, including three centuries and two half-centuries.
At number four is India’s Shreyas Iyer who played 17 matches during the calendar year and scored 724 runs at an average of 55.69. He scored runs at a blistering pace of 91.52, including one century and six half-centuries.
At number two is Zimbabwe’s veteran Sikandar Raza. 2022 saw a resurgence of Raza who scored 645 runs at an average of 49.61 and a strike rate of 87.16, scoring two fifties to complement three centuries.
Next up is Mehdi Hasan Miraj of Bangladesh, who had a stellar 2022. He took 24 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 28.20 with best figures of 4/29. He also scored 330 runs at an impressive average of 66 with one century and one half-century.

Young West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has found a place in the attack in the ICC ODI XI of 2022. He played 17 matches and took 27 wickets at an average of 25.70 and a strike rate of 33.4. He was also stingy with an economy rate of 4.61, with best figures of 3/36.
Another Indian in the line-up is Siraj, who has delivered with both the new and the old ball. He played 15 matches and took 24 wickets. His wickets came at an economy of 4.62 and an average of 23.50, with best figures of 3/29.
New Zealand Trent Boult and Adam Zampa are the last two names in the line-up. Boult played only six matches in 2022 but made a huge impact in them. He scalped 18 wickets at an impressive average of 12.38 and a poor economy of 3.98 with best figures of 4/38.

Meanwhile, Zampa enjoyed his joint most prolific year in ODI cricket in 2016, matching his 30-wicket haul from his debut year. Their achievement this year was even more impressive, as nine of the 12 matches they played were at home, where conditions were not favourable. not suited for spinners
