In a recent interview with Business Today, Hastings said that investing more in India is a priority for Netflix.

The company has already invested Rs 3,000 crore in the last two years to develop original programming, with a focus exclusively on local content and the potential for more investments. “India as a market has been witnessing explosive growth in video content viewership over the past few years – partly driven by people staying home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Netflix has emerged as one of the major contenders for the consumer’s wallet. Over the past five years, the brand has established instant recall in the minds of Indian consumers,” Hastings said.
