IAF chopper crash: Kerala government offers job to JWO Pradeep’s wife, financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh

The Kerala cabinet on Wednesday decided to give job to the wife of JWO A Pradeep, who was killed in an Indian Air Force chopper crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. He will be given a job in one of the government departments of Thrissur district in the category of class III on the basis of his educational qualification.

For the treatment of Pradeep’s father, the government said that an amount of one lakh rupees would be given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. His father was recently in the ICU due to breathing problems and Pradeep was with him the whole time. He joined his duty only after his father got leave.

The Kerala government also promised Rs 5 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Sainik Welfare Fund to Pradeep’s family.

In the helicopter crash, 11 armed forces personnel including CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and Pradeep were killed. All of them were on board the Russian Mi-17V5 helicopter, which crashed shortly after take-off from the army base in Sulur.

Pradeep is survived by his wife and two children, a 7-year-old son and a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
