Michael Vaughan dropped a big cue for skipper Rohit Sharma and Pat Cummins to give their verdict on the Oval pitch ahead of the WTC final 2023.

Former England great Michael Vaughan has given a big hint to Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and Australian skipper Pat Cummins after giving his verdict on the Oval pitch ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) final 2023. After Indian legend Dinesh Karthik shared the latest images of the pitch to be used for the WTC final between India and Australia in London for the summit clash from June 7-11, Vaughan predicted that as the game As it goes on, the strip will keep getting better and better.

Earlier, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli highlighted that the biggest ‘challenge’ in England would be to assess the situation correctly and predicted that the team which adjusts well is likely to win the WTC final .

India have played well on English soil and have won matches in difficult conditions, although Vaughan expects the captain who wins the toss to elect to bowl first, even if the weather is bad.

Karthik, who was on the commentary panel for the WTC final, shared pictures of the strip on Twitter, highlighting an interesting point that the grass was cut from 9mm to 6mm just a day before the summit clash.

“Pitch ready for #WTCFinal! The grass is 6 mm browner today than yesterday’s 9 mm. What would you choose if you win the toss? DK tweeted.

Vaughan took note of the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman’s tweet and gave his verdict on the pitch, which will be used for the WTC final, giving the cut to two captains, Rohit and Cummins.

Vaughan replied to Karthik’s tweet, “Will play very well..and keeps getting better and better so I’ll bowl first..especially if it’s cloudy tomorrow.”

So it will be interesting to see what Rohit and Cummins do with the pitch, with the ICC on Tuesday night sharing pictures of the Australian skipper eyeing the 22 yards a day ahead of the big game.

Australia is well ahead of India in terms of head-to-head record, standing at 44-32 from 106 red-ball games between the two cricket giants.
