Shoaib Akhtar’s big disclosure
Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar is known for his lethal bowling. He holds the record for the fastest bowling in the world. In 2003, he bowled at a speed of 161.3 kmph.
Rawalpindi Express has recently made a big disclosure in an interview. He shared an anecdote from India’s tour of Pakistan when he was bowling to India’s star batsman Sachin Tendulkar, Akhtar admitted that he intended to hurt Tendulkar during the third Test in Karachi.
“I am revealing this for the first time. I intentionally wanted to kill Sachin in that test match. I was determined that I would have to injure Sachin at any cost in that test. Inzamam kept telling me that bowl in front of the wickets. , but I wanted to kill Sachin. So I hit his helmet and I thought he was done. But when I saw the video, I saw that Sachin managed to save his head,” Akhtar confessed.
Abdul Razzaq sent Tendulkar back to the hut after scoring just 23 runs. It was the same test when Irfan Pathan took the famous hat-trick in the first over by taking the wickets of Salman Butt, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yusuf. India lost that match by 341 runs, losing the three-match series 1–0.
Akhtar made his Test debut for Pakistan in 1997. He started playing ODI in 1998 and T20i in 2006. He last played for his country in the year 2011. During his career, he has taken 178 wickets in 46 Test matches, 247 wickets in 163 ODIs and 19 out of 15 wickets. T20I.
