Jordine Fletcher stars for Neroca as they beat Aizawl 2-1 (I-League Twitter)
Mirzalol Kosimov and Jourdain Fletcher scored for Neroca, while R Lalthanmawia scored the consolation goal.
Neroca FC registered their second consecutive win in the I-League 2022-23 season as they beat Aizawl FC 2-1 at the Khuman Lampak Stadium here on Saturday.
In a game that saw all the action unfold in the second half, Aizawl FC took the lead early in the second half through a well-executed free kick by R Lalthanmavia.
However, the hosts came back strong and scored two goals in the space of six minutes. While Mirzalol Kosimov scored the equaliser, Jourdain Fletcher’s superb strike earned Neroca FC the full points.
The first 45 minutes of the game was a monotonous affair with the ball passing from one end to the other and neither team showing any intent and readiness.

In the 56th minute, Mattias Veron won a free kick from about 30 yards from goal. R Lalthanamawia took the free kick and deceived Poirei as the home keeper failed to keep the shot from going into the corner of the net.
In the 76th minute, a weak header from R Ramadinthara fell on the edge of the penalty area and Uzbek Mirzalol Kosimov took a volley that bounced past goalkeeper Lalmuansanga before finding the back of the net.
With only eight minutes of regulation time remaining, Fletcher again attempted to head towards goal and then the Jamaican unleashed a surprise shot that ended up in the bottom corner of the goal and Lalmuansanga had no chance to save it.
After taking the lead, the hosts showed a cautious approach. However, the game ended in dramatic fashion.
Three minutes into injury time, substitute Yumnam Singh cut inside from the right to take a shot from the edge of the 18-yard area. He managed to beat goalkeeper Lalmuansanga but was denied by the crossbar.
