‘I Have Full Belief’: Ex-India stumper explains how Virat Kohli can ‘revive his Test career anew’

Team India is gearing up for the South Africa Test starting from 26 December at Centurion. The audience has never won a Test series in Rainbow Nation and would like to rewrite history. At the same time, captain Virat Kohli will be in the headlines. This will be his first tournament since he was removed from the post of ODI captain earlier this month.

Meanwhile, former India wicketkeeper-batsman Saba Karim believes that the upcoming series against South Africa will witness a revived version of Kohli. The former Indian was happy to see the Test captain enjoying the training session.

Speaking to India News, Karim said that Kohli will play with an open mind as the burden has been taken off his head.

“It seems like a burden has been removed from Virat Kohli’s head. He can now play with an open mind, reviving his Test career anew. Hopefully he will perform like two years ago,” Karim told India News.

“If he bats with an open mind and attitude, he can replicate those performances. I am sure that the form he has shown in the practice session, the same form will be seen in the match as well.

The last few years have been tough for Virat Kohli as he struggled to stay afloat between runs. And now, they have another chance to redeem themselves on South African soil. He also has a great batting record here. The 33-year-old has scored 558 runs in five Tests at Rainbow Nation at an average of 55.80. In India’s previous tour, in 2018, Kohli finished the three-match Test series as the highest run-scorer and also scored a century.
