Hyundai Motor India Limited has now confirmed that bookings for the upcoming IONIQ 5 will begin from December 20 in our market. While the company is tight-lipped about the launch, the pricing is expected to be announced at the 2023 Auto Expo. IONIQ 5 will use a number of natural and recycled elements. The EV will use bio paint for surfaces such as crash pads, switches, steering wheel and door panels that contain oils extracted from plants such as rape flower and corn. Also, the eco-processed leather used in the interior of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 has been dyed with linseed oil.
The South Korean brand has revealed that the fabric of the headliner and carpet include bio-ingredients extracted from sugarcane and corn. The eco-friendly fabric used on the IONIQ 5 has been developed using approximately 32 plastic bottles. The fabric is then used for the seatbacks and door armrests.
In terms of innovation, the upcoming Hyundai IONIQ 5 has some interesting details such as the Vision Roof, which has a full-length glass panel. In addition, it gets parametric pixel LED headlamps and parametric pixel design for the 20-inch alloy wheels. The latter enhances the overall aerodynamics of the IONIQ 5. With a focus on space innovation, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 features a large drawer-type glove box that enhances utility and convenience.
