Hyderabad: Telangana’s Tirumala Yadadri on special postal cover | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: A centuries-old hill shrine, Yadagirigutta, known also Yadadri, and Telangana’s Tirumala, now on postal cover. First ever temple in Telangana, being honoured by the Telangana postal department, by releasing the postal cover.
Union minister of State for Communication, Devusinh Chauhan who visited Yadadri temple on Monday, has released a postal cover, on Yadadri temple at Bhongir post office.
This special cover carries the aerial view of Yadadri Temple, and a brochure containing a brief on Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple.
Speaking on the occasion, union minister Devusinh Chauhan said, “it is fortunate to have the opportunity of releasing a special cover on Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, which has its origins in vedas and skanda puranam. He felt blessed for releasing the special cover on the renovated temple with 39 KGs of gold and 1753 tones of silver.”
In March this year, the temple was renovated with Rs 1,200 crore, to be said to be the most expensive temple in Telangana, being inaugurated by the Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao. Since then, the devotees have been availing darshan and performing poojas at the hillock of the temple.
The Yadadri is located, abouty 60 Kilometers from the Hyderabad city and temple has access road and rail connectivity.
The Yadadri special cover with special cancellation is priced at Rs 50 & without cancellation is priced at Rs 45 along with brochure will be available for sale at all the philatelic bureaus in all Head Post Offices in Telangana.
Officials including T M Sreelatha, Postmaster General (Headquarter Region), K A Devaraj, Director of Postal Services (Headquarters), K V N Rao, and Chief General Manager, BSNL, Ashok Kumar, Head DoT, also present.
