Residents of many colonies were agitated as the power was not restored for more than four hours. “The power went out in our area around 5 pm on Saturday and was restored only at 9 pm. Since there was no electricity for so many hours, we could not even charge our phones and complain to the electricity department G Sudeep, resident of hill top Colony in Erramanjil.
Many other areas like Begumpet, Fatehnagar, Qutubullapur, red HillsKavadiguda, to name a few, reported power outages for several hours.
Several aggrieved consumers took to Twitter for help from the official handle of TSSPDCL. Sai throat | Ghanathe @saikanthrocker tweeted, “Power failure in Kavadiguda. Trying to reach local office, can’t connect. Please look into the matter and resolve it at the earliest.”
The power department has blamed heavy flooding and breakdown of power lines and feeder issues across the city for the power outage. “The main complaints were feeder trips, breakage of electric wires, burning of transformers and poles, and jumpers. In many areas, there were power cuts due to breaking of power lines due to falling trees and tripping of feeders. Our teams are working relentlessly to resolve these issues,” said TSSPDCL Director (Operations), G Srinivas Reddy, said.
