COVID-19 India News Updates: 7,240 new cases of novel coronavirus were reported in India, with 8 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday (June 9), there were a total of 3,591 discharges in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate to around 98.71 per cent and the total recovery data reaching 4,26. ,40,301.

The total active cases of COVID-19 in India has risen to 32,498, health ministry data showed today. The active cases registered yesterday stood at 28,857.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered an increase of 3,641 cases in a 24-hour period. The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.08 per cent of the total infections.

The total death toll in the country now stands at 5,24,723. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic was reported in March 2020.

ICMR test:

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 85,38,63,238 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till June 8. Of these, 3,40,615 samples were tested on Wednesday.

Maharashtra COVID Tally:

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Wednesday recorded 2,701 fresh coronavirus positive cases, the highest in nearly four months and zero fatality rate, while the active cases rose to a little less than 10,000, the health department said.

With the fresh cases, the state’s total infections rose to 78,98,815 and the death toll to 11,47,866. Active cases are 9,806, it said.

On February 17 this year, 2,797 new cases were registered in the state.

Mumbai alone contributed to 1,765 new cases out of 2701 cases, however, most of them are asymptomatic.
