Maharashtra State Board The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Tuesday announced that students will not be allowed to enter the examination centers after 10.30 am and 3 pm when the written examination begins. SSC exam started on Tuesday while HSC exam started from 4th March.
Board officials said that the malpractices found during the ongoing HSC examinations were mostly perpetrated by the late students at the examination centres. Screenshots of answers to questions were found on the cell phones of students who came late to the examination centres. On Tuesday, no case of cheating was reported from nine divisions in both HSC and SSC exams. Board officials attributed this to increased vigilance in schools and colleges.
The board said that the students will have to be at the exam center at least one hour before the exam. The exam is conducted in two slots from 10.30 AM to 2 PM and 3 PM to 6.30 PM. Students have to be in their allotted classes by 10.20 am or 2.50 pm when question papers are distributed for reading.
If a student reports at the examination center between 10.20 am to 10.30 am, he will be deemed to have written the paper, if unavoidable due to delay. The permission of such students to write their papers will require the consent of the Board of Directors. Till now, a delay of 10 minutes was allowed in unavoidable circumstances. An additional ten-minute delay was allowed in case of emergency.
Schools on Tuesday took extra vigil while allowing students inside classrooms on the first day of SSC exams. Students were searched for cell phones and other gadgets. The board has warned schools of strict action if students circulate question papers on social media platforms during the examination. The HSC Chemistry and Mathematics question papers were found circulating on the social media apps of the cell phones of the students while the exams were going on on Saturday and Monday.
Over 16 lakh students, including seven lakh girls, appeared for their first language paper in nine divisions of the state on Tuesday.
The warning bell rang at 9.50 am and question papers were distributed to the students at 10.20 am. The examinations started at 10.30 am. The second or third language German and French papers were held from 3 pm to 6.30 pm.
