Howrah-Mumbai Express Derailed In Jharkhand, 2 dead, 40 Injured

Another major train accident has occurred in the country. The Howrah-Mumbai Express collided with a goods train in Jharkhand, causing around five coaches to derail and overturn. 2 dead and over 40 people have been injured and are receiving treatment in the hospital. The accident happened in Chakradharpur, Jharkhand, between Rajkharsawan and Barabambo, at approximately 3:45 AM.

Train number 12810 Howrah-CSMT Express was derailed near Chakradharpur, between Rajkharsawan West Outer and Barabambo in the Chakradharpur division. The derailed coaches then collided with a goods train on the adjacent track. After the information of the accident, GRP and railway officials rushed to the site. The railway’s medical team also arrived to provide first aid to the injured.

The injured have been taken to the railway hospital in Chakradharpur. Senior DCM Aditya Kumar Choudhary confirmed the accident. A relief train from Chakradharpur Railway Division has arrived, and ambulances and police teams are on-site. The Seraikela Deputy Commissioner also reached the scene after learning about the accident. Passengers reported that shortly after the train left Barabambo and was heading from Tatanagar, it suddenly derailed with a loud crash.
