How to get Windows 11 on your PC right now: New features and why you might be waiting

Microsoft recently launched windows 11 Preview build. Those who signed up as Windows Insiders can download the Windows 11 preview right now, which includes access to the newly redesigned Windows, including a new Start menu, multitasking features, overhauls, and more. Microsoft Store, even more. The official preview also features an updated File Explorer that simplifies storage management. Most of the visual changes Microsoft unveiled with Windows 11 last month are available in preview builds. Windows 11’s new dark/light mode improvements and themes are also part of the preview along with the new widget feature. Those wishing to get their hands on preview creation need to enroll in windows Insider Program.

Users must enroll in the Windows Insider Program and then navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program Windows 10 To enable Device Dev Channel and receive Windows 11 builds. Users need a compatible machine, though Microsoft says it is waiving its new hardware requirements during this preview period for those who are testing Windows builds before June 24. Otherwise, users need to use Microsoft’s PC Health Check app to see that their system is compatible. We would not recommend users to install these previews on a machine they use daily, as it is prone to bugs and incomplete features. Microsoft has several known issues that it lists, they are as follows:

Taskbar won’t show in multiple monitors

When upgrading a device with multiple users to Windows 11, Settings will fail to launch

The Microsoft Store Install button may not be functional in “certain limited scenarios”.

Windows 11 Preview Build brings all Windows 11 features except two key features – Microsoft Teams integration and Android apps on Windows. Both features are still being developed by Microsoft, but will appear in a later preview build.
