How Indians are spending time online: 10 hours a week more screen time, phone preference and more online shopping

It comes as no surprise when Ericsson ConsumerLab’s annual report is pointing to how Indians are now using their smartphones. • Smartphones seem to be the device of choice for accessing the Internet, with 52% of users surveyed in India preferring PCs or laptops. • Globally, there has also been a shift towards online shopping. “Prior to the pandemic, online shopping accounted for about 34% of all consumer product purchases globally, including fashion, technology and home decor. During the pandemic, this increased to 53%. Consumers anticipate that online shopping will become a more common feature in the next few days for their shopping needs,” says the report.
