Making a big disclosure, BJP MLA Shrimant Balasaheb Patil said on Sunday that he was offered money to quit Congress and join BJP before the Congress-JDS government was toppled in Karnataka.

Talking to the media on this, Patil said that he was offered money to join the BJP and he could have demanded any amount, but instead he left the people and went to serve the people. demanded the post of minister.

“I don’t know why I was not given a ministerial post in the present government. But I have been promised that in the next expansion I will get the post of minister. I spoke to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.”

Shrimant Patil is an MLA from Kagwad Assembly Constituency in Karnataka. He was initially associated with the Congress, but switched camps in July 2019. He was one of the 16 MLAs who joined the BJP from the Congress and the Janata Dal Secular (JDS), which led to the collapse of the coalition government led by then Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.

He was given a ministerial post after the Yeddyurappa government was formed in the state. However, he was dropped from the cabinet after BS Yediyurappa resigned and Basavaraj Bommai became the chief minister.
