Hindutva and ISIS are not the same, but similar: Salman Khurshid amid book controversy

New Delhi: Amid the controversy after the book titled ‘Sunrise Over Ayodhya: Nationhood in Our Times’, author and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid said that he never called Hindutva and ISIS ‘similar’, but called it ‘similar’. ‘ in his book.

Speaking to news agency ANI at an event at Kalki Dham in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal, Salman Khurshid said, “It seems that some people are trying to defame Hinduism. They are enemies of Hinduism and are afraid. are that their truth will come out. They will ban any book which exposes their truth.”

“ISIS and Boko Haram have defamed Islam but none of the Islamic followers opposed it. I didn’t say ISIS and Hindutva are same, I said they are same,” he said.

The former Union minister’s book regarding the Supreme Court’s verdict on Ayodhya was published last week. In the book, exploring the Ayodhya verdict by the apex court, Khurshid compared Hindutva to radical terrorist organizations such as Boko Haram and ISIS, which led to controversy.

Meanwhile, two Delhi-based lawyers on Thursday filed an injunction petition before the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on the publication, circulation and publicity of the book, alleging that it hurts the sentiments of a large section of the society.
