Canadian MP Chandra Arya is facing a barrage of hostile reaction after criticising Khalistani operatives for defacing the BAPS Hindu temple in Edmonton.

Arya pointed out that Hindu temples in the Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia, and other places in Canada were being vandalised with hateful graffiti.

The incidents came close on the heels of Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of Sikhs for Justice last year publicly calling for Hindus to go back to India.

Khalistan supporters also publicly celebrated in Brampton and Vancouver on the anniversary of the 1984 assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and brandished images of deadly weapons.

“As I have always been saying, Khalistani extremists seem to get away with ease with their public rhetoric of hate and violence,” Arya had said.

Last month, he also said that the 1985 bombing of Air India’s Kanishka aircraft was the handiwork of Khalistani terrorists.

Following this, he was slammed by Pannun, who said that Arya was promoting India’s interests and working under the directions of “his master”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Pannun also said that Arya should give up his Canadian citizenship and move back to India.

“Justin Trudeau’s government says that it has given citizenship to all kinds of religions and people, but what is happening is very radical,” a top intelligence source told CNN-News18. “An MP being bashed by Khalistani goons and no word coming from the government is very serious, especially because this government gives space to all kinds of people — gangsters, drug mafia, and serial killers. An MP being asked to go back to India can’t happen without the consent of the Trudeau government. We believe this understanding between Pannun and the Trudeau government is taking serious shape.”
