Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur On Saturday afternoon, he visited the flood-affected areas of Lahaul Valley of Lahaul-Spiti district and took stock of the situation and supervised the relief and rescue operations being carried out by the district administration.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also interacted with the local people and assured them of all possible assistance to restore road connectivity at the earliest so that their cash crops can be taken outside the district.
He also interacted with the stranded people including tourists.

A total of 178 stranded people were sent to Kullu by road, in which 37 people were stranded in Jahlama, 14 people were stranded in Phura village and 15 people were stranded. Shansha.

He said that the local Mahila Mandal was providing food to all, including those involved in the rescue and restoration operations.

In Lahaul-Spiti district on July 27, due to cloudburst and severe floods, the Tandi-Sansarinala road and bridges have suffered heavy damage.
The Jahlma bridge on the Tandi-Sansarinal road has been washed away and Shansha, Madgran and Throta Heavy damage has been done.
Markanda said that the Border Roads Organization is working on a war footing to repair these bridges and roads.
He along with 38 BRTIF Commander Col Uma Shankar reached the spot on Saturday to take stock of the situation and expedite the repair work.
He said that it would take 20 to 25 days for the traffic to be restored on the Tandi-Sansrinal road and at present, alternative arrangements have been made for the people to cross the road on the damaged bridges.

He said the three people who went missing after the flash floods in Tojing Nallah are yet to be traced and the National Disaster Response Force team has been sent back.
He said that the police dog squad will reach the spot on Saturday to start the search operation.
