The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the proposal to promote seven lawyers of Delhi as High Court Judges. Their names have been approved by the collegium headed by CJI Justice NV Ramana in a meeting held on May 4. The names of advocates who have been approved for making judges in the Delhi High Court are Vikas Mahajan, Tushar Rao Gedela, Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora, Sachin Dutta, Amit Mahajan, Gaurang Kanth and Saurabh Banerjee. At present, the strength of judges working in the Delhi High Court is 35. There are a total of 60 posts of judges here.

Similarly, the proposal to make seven people working as judicial officers in the Patna High Court has also been approved as judges in the High Court. These include the names of Shailendra Singh, Arun Kumar Jha, Jitendra Kumar, Alok Kumar Pandey, Sunil Dutt Mishra, Chandra Prakash Singh and Chandrashekhar Jha.

The collegium also approved the proposal to nominate Andhra Pradesh advocate Mehboob Subhani Shaikh as a High Court judge.
