Searching for hotels can be a daunting task but you have nothing to worry as we have got your back on it, here is a checklist before booking your stay in the mountains

With summer season knocking at the door, it’s time to plan a refreshing getaway to beat the heat. The summer temperature and humidity in India are unbearable, but hill stations come to our rescue. The incredible location against the beautiful backdrop and cool climate is all we need to soothe our mind. The snow-capped peaks of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh seem like a respite from the scorching sun in the cities. But, the first thing that comes to our mind while planning a trip is to find a suitable accommodation.

Here are some things you should consider while deciding where to stay in the mountains-

Place

Look for hotels and accommodations that give you a clear view of the mountain peaks. There is nothing more mesmerizing than waking up to the sight of snow-capped mountains. Check to see if your hotel is on Mall Road. At hill stations, Mall Road has become a popular place for tourists to visit and enjoy the place. But, the entry of tourist cars or other vehicles is prohibited in this area at certain times of the day. If you are arriving or departing from the hotel during this time, you may face problems regarding transportation.

check parking space

Many of us like to drive to these hill stations on weekends. Also, the difficult terrain forces many travelers to book a tourist vehicle to get around the places. In this case, you will have to leave your vehicle at the hotel or guest house where you are staying. So, before booking your accommodation, check whether the hotel has enough parking space for their guests.

hot water supply and heater

We don’t want to shiver in the cold or fall ill while traveling. Make sure that your hotel provides 24-hour hot water supply. If we have to leave very early in the morning, we’ll want to make sure hot water is available at that time. Also, the rooms should be sufficiently warm to give you comfort and relaxation.

travel packages

This is ideal if your hotel has an in-house travel desk. It becomes difficult for tourists to see all the places on their own. The travel desk will help you make better use of your time and also save you any extra cost. Even if you get stuck due to bad weather, they will make sure that you get back to your hotel safely.

research

Before booking, always verify the details of the accommodation online or by calling them. It is important to know the exact location, how to travel and the facilities available at the chosen accommodation.
