Pro wrestler Jinder Mahal interacted with the Canadian men’s cricket team ahead of their T20 World Cup match against India in Florida.

Former WWE champion Jinder Mahal spent some time with the Canadian men’s cricket team ahead of their T20 World Cup 2024 game against India, slated to take place in Florida on Saturday.

Mahal, who was released by WWE earlier in April, has been invited to attend the first-ever international match between India and Canada at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill.

On the eve of the Group A fixture, “The Maharaja” interacted with the members of the Canadian side and wished them luck for the upcoming T20 World Cup assignment.

The cricketers presented Mahal with a memento jersey and took a group picture.

Glimpses of the meeting were shared on Instagram by Cricket Canada.

“The Maharaja (FKA Jinder Mahal) has arrived in Fort Lauderdale and Team Canada proudly presented him with the Official T20 World Cup jersey.” read the caption.

Mahal appeared quite excited about the contest.

Standing alongside Canada captain Saad Bin Zafar, the former WWE star was heard saying in the video, “This is my first time ever in an international game, let alone a World Cup game. Here to support Team Canada against India. It’s going to be a huge match, here in Florida. Good luck to the entire team. Good luck to Canada.”

Canada have already been knocked out of this T20 World Cup. They, however, put up some impressive performances.

Canada lost the tournament opener to co-hosts USA before defeating Ireland in a low-scoring clash to secure their maiden victory in the competition.

Canada lost to Pakistan next but put up an impressive show.

Canada will now look to showcase their A game against India, hoping to sing off on a positive note. With two points to their name, Canada now occupy the fourth spot in the Group A standings.

Mahal, a Canadian wrestler, is now gearing up to make his debut in the independent circuit following the termination of his WWE contract. He has signed a new deal with Black Label Pro and is set to feature at Old Habits Die SCREAMING on July 26.
