Herd immunity in 71% of adult population of the country: 100% of Himachal-Jammu population fully vaccinated, Punjab and Jharkhand still behind in applying both doses

Both doses of herd vaccine have been administered in 71% of the adult population in the country. The World Health Organization (WHO) said recently that 70% of a country’s population is vaccinated, and antibodies develop in the population. This is called herd immunity. 67 crore adults in India have come under this condition.

The vaccination campaign was started in the country on 16 January last year. Since then, more than 160 crore doses have been given in the country. Of the country’s 135 crore population, 65% have received 1 dose, 48% have received 2 doses for the third dose. From January 10 this year, the introduction of precaution doses to the elderly and frontline-healthcare workers has been started. So far 66.18 lakh precaution doses have been given.

Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir are at the forefront of dosing for adults in the country.
In Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, 100% of the adult population has been given both doses of the vaccine, but Punjab and Jharkhand are still lagging behind. Only 50% of the population here has got both doses.

Women lag behind in metros; ahead of men in states like Bengal-Bihar
In the country, 954 women have been dosed per 1000 men. While the sex ratio is 933. According to experts, this is because of the mandatory vaccination in the offices in the metro city. Men go to office, while women stay at home. This is also the reason why people working in metros leave their families in small towns.

54% in UK, 24% in US got booster
More than 35 countries of the world including America, Britain, Israel are giving booster doses to their citizens. In different countries, people are being given booster doses of corona vaccine keeping in mind the comorbidity (having more than one disease at a time) and different factors.

It started from Israel in August, after which booster doses are being given in countries like America, Canada, Japan, China, Turkey along with almost all countries of Europe including Britain, France, Spain, Norway, Germany. In America with a population of 330 million, 74% have received 1 dose, 62% have got 2 doses and 24% have got a booster dose.
