Ghaziabad: A case has been registered against a domestic help for stealing gold jewelery worth Rs 4 lakh from a flat in Saya Zion, Gaur City.
Flat owner Shubhan Bhat told the police that the incident took place on August 12 between 8 am and 9 am.
“I was not at home at that time. My wife Sushma kept her jewelery on a table in her room. But, at that time our helper Pravesh was inside the house. Suddenly my wife could not find the jewellery. Then he sought Pravesh who had left the house without informing anyone,” alleged Bhat, a retired bank manager.
He alleged that Pravesh stole 80 grams of gold from his house. The next day, the help didn’t come to work and “didn’t tell us any specific reason for it”. On August 14th, when she came to work, we “talked to her about it”. Theft But he refused”, she told the police.
On August 17, Bhat called the police. “I was asked to visit the police post, but I could not find the check-post in-charge. After this I lodged a complaint at Bisrakh police station.
SHO of Bisrakh police station Anita Chauhan said that on the basis of the complaint, an FIR has been registered on Saturday evening under Section 380 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code. “Investigation is on,” she said.
