In a spectacle that captivated residents of Mavikalan village in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district, a lavish wedding ceremony saw the arrival and departure of the bride and groom via helicopter, sparking immense public interest and a formidable security challenge for local authorities. The groom, Virendra, a milk businessman hailing from Ghaziabad’s Indrapuri, made a grand entrance to Mavikalan village aboard a helicopter for his wedding to Pratibha, a nursing student from the village. The event drew crowds from nearby areas eager to witness the aerial display and festivities, resulting in a significant gathering despite rigorous security measures reportedly in place.

Following the wedding ceremony, the newlywed couple departed for their new life together in a helicopter, departing from Janta Inter College grounds where the aircraft had landed earlier. The scene attracted scores of villagers, prompting a substantial police presence to ensure order. The administration had granted all necessary permissions well in advance, remarked village head Deepak Kumar, who is also Pratibha’s uncle. This was the first instance in the village where a helicopter was used for a bride’s farewell. Every protocol was followed, and authorities cooperated fully, he added.

Local officials confirmed that despite the extensive preparations, controlling the enthusiastic crowd proved challenging, as villagers clamored to capture photographs and catch a glimpse of the rare spectacle unfolding above them. The use of helicopters for wedding processions remains a rare occurrence in rural settings, underscoring the uniqueness of this event for Mavikalan and its surrounding communities.
