Heavy Rain Lashes Parts Of Delhi-NCR, IMD Predicts More Showers

New Delhi: Parts of Delhi received rain on Monday, forcing commuters to take shelter behind trees and bus stops. Heavy rain was recorded in parts of south and outer Delhi and Noida, while other parts of the national capital received light showers. Residents of Delhi woke up to a beautiful morning as the minimum temperature was recorded at 19.6 degrees Celsius, six notches below the season’s average on Monday. Maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR

The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 26 degree Celsius. Light rain lashed parts of Delhi on Sunday, bringing down the maximum temperature to 28.7 degrees Celsius, 10 notches below the season’s average and the lowest in the month since April 4, 2015, the India Meteorological Department said. . According to the IMD, the monthly average maximum temperature in Delhi in April is 35.3 degrees Celsius, although it was 1.2 degrees Celsius lower than the long-term average this year.

IMD forecast for southern states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast of thunderstorm and hailstorm activity across the country including northern states of Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana as well as Tamil Nadu, Kerala and south peninsular Karnataka.

The meteorological agency has also predicted that the spell of rain will last till May 3 and will start reducing significantly from May 4. The thunderstorm activity is expected to reduce over most parts of the country from May 5.
