Weather Update: East India will witness severe heat wave conditions for one or two more days as heat wave conditions will blow over these areas. The Meteorological Department said on Wednesday that eastern Indian states like Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha are likely to be in the grip of heat wave.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for severe heatwave conditions over the next two days in Motihari, Sitamarhi, Begusarai, Khagaria and Banka districts of Bihar. The weather office has forecast heatwave conditions to continue in different parts of Bihar on Thursday.
Bihar CM asked to make arrangements amid heat wave conditions
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday directed the officers of all the districts to make elaborate arrangements amid the scorching heat in the state.

Heat wave conditions continued unabated in major parts of Jharkhand, with the mercury hovering between 39°C and 44°C.
Light rain in Navrangpur, Odisha
In Odisha, similar situation prevailed at one or two places in Cuttack, Khurda and Mayurbhanj districts. However, light rain occurred at one place in Navrangpur district, the Meteorological Department said.

The Tripura government has identified heatwave, sunstroke and sunburn as calamities amid scorching heat in most parts of the northeastern state, an official notification said.
These areas receive heavy to very heavy rainfall
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh till Saturday and in Assam and Meghalaya on Friday and Saturday.
