The bail plea of flamboyant leader Sukhpal Khaira in Punjab will be heard today. He is presently lodged in Patiala Jail. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Arrested in money laundering and drug case

Mehtab Khaira, son of Sukhpal Khaira, said that the grounds given by the ED for the arrest are not in the challan. Mehtab said that the ED did not take 2 limits of one crore each in his account in the investigation. The contract for farming on his ancestral land was also not calculated correctly.

After arresting Khaira, the ED got 7 days custody. After this, he was again produced in the Mohali court. The ED was demanding more remand here, but the court sent Khaira to Patiala Jail in judicial custody. However, no official statement was issued by the ED in this matter.
