The weekly positivity rate of the corona epidemic came down to 1.68% last week. Earlier it was 5.86%. Corona infection can increase during festivals and weddings.

Health Ministry’s Joint Secretary Luv Aggarwal said that we do not yet think that Kovid is over. There are many challenges of Corona before us and we need to work on it. We still have to keep following the guidelines related to Kovid.

Last week 56% of Covid cases were reported from Kerala
Luv Aggarwal said that in the last 24 hours, close to 22,000 cases of corona were registered in the country. He said that even today, on an average, around 20,000 cases are coming to the country every day. Last week 56% of Kovid cases have been reported from Kerala.

More active cases in Tamil Nadu, Mizoram and Karnataka
The Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health said that there are 5 states where there are still more than 10,000 active cases. There are around 1,22,000 active cases in Kerala. Maharashtra has close to 36,000 active cases. Tamil Nadu, Mizoram and Karnataka also have more number of patients undergoing treatment.

Positivity rate between 5% to 10% in 28 districts
Lav Aggarwal said that there are 28 districts including some districts in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, in which the positivity rate is between 5% to 10%. This is a high infection rate. There are 34 districts where there is a weekly positivity rate of more than 10%. Lakshadweep, Chandigarh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Andaman-Nicobar and Sikkim have given their first dose of vaccine to 100% of their population.
