Health Minister ‘hit by a guard’, disguised as common man during his visit to Safdarjung Hospital

New Delhi: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya described the pain of a common man as he himself shared his recent experience. It is reported that the Union Minister reached Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital in the guise of a common man and sat on the bench. He was allegedly hit by a guard, who asked him not to sit there.

Health Minister Mandaviya mentioned the incident at the inauguration ceremony of health facilities at Safdarganj Hospital last Thursday. As soon as he reported the incident, the spectators present there were stunned.

Mandaviya inaugurated four facilities, including a new oxygen plant, a makeshift hospital ready to treat COVID patients.

The Health Minister said that during his surprise inspection, there was a lack of managerial system in the hospital.

He said, “I saw an elderly woman of about 75 years in the hospital in need of a stretcher for her son. The guards present there did not help the woman to get the stretcher and/or carry the stretcher.”

During the function, the Health Minister said that arrangements should be made for basic needs like stretching of stretcher in the hospital, so that patients do not face any such problem again.
