Headmaster Beats Up Dalit Student For Touching His Bike | Varanasi News – Times of India

Varanasi: The headmaster of a pre-secondary school in Ballia was suspended on Saturday for brutally beating up a Dalit student of class VI for allegedly touching his motorcycle a day before.
Annoyed over the incident, the villagers staged a protest on Saturday after which basic education officer Maniram Singh suspended the head master Krishna Mohan Sharma and formed a team of officials to probe into the matter.
Singh said that on the basis of the report of initial investigation by the block education officer, Sharma has been suspended. A team of block education officers had been formed for detailed investigation in the matter, he said adding, further course of action against Sharma would be decided after the arrival of the investigation report.
Initial investigation revealed that during recess at pre-secondary school of Ranaupur of Nagra area in Ballia, a 11-year-old Dalit student placed his hand on Sharma’s motorcycle inside the school premises on Friday.
This made the headmaster upset. He caught the boy and started thrashing him and dragged to his office. The boy alleged that he had also hit him with a steel rod.
Later, Sharm applied some ointment on his wounds and let him go to his home in Kauwapar of Bhimpura area. After reaching home the boy showed his wounds to his parents and narrated the incident.
