Lucknow Super Giants head coach Andy Flower joins Australian team as consultant ahead of WTC final 2023

Former England coach and currently in-charge of IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants, Andy Flower has joined the Australian camp ahead of the World Test Championship final against India at The Oval starting on Wednesday.

Flower, who coached England from 2009-2014, has joined the Australian support staff in a consultant role. But he is not expected to be present in the Ashes series starting on June 16 at Edgbaston.

India and Australia will face off in the final of the second edition of the WTC, with The Oval hosting its first Test in the month of June in its 143-year history.

As per a report in ESPNcricinfo, Flower is expected to join the Australian camp during the subsequent Ashes.

Former Zimbabwe captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Flower is one of England’s most successful coaches this millennium, leading them to three consecutive Ashes victories, including victories at home in 2009 and 2013, and most impressively, Down in 2010-11. Under.

With Flower at the helm of the coaching staff, Andrew Strauss’s England team became the first team in 24 years to win the Ashes in Australia.
