During an interview, Rameez Raja was asked whether Shoaib Akhtar could become the next chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Former PCB chairman took a brutal jibe at the former pacer

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been quite vocal on social media platforms. He frequently shares his opinion on the cricket system of his country. He recently made a bizarre comparison between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli. In an interview with a Pakistani news channel, Akhtar criticized not only the Pakistan captain, but the entire team for lack of character and inability to speak in English. However, Akhtar’s statement was not welcomed by fans on social media. In fact, former PCB chief Rameez Raja also lashed out at the former pacer for his comments.

,Abhi aap dekh le, koi character nahi team mein. Naa koi baat karne ka tarika. (You can see that the team has no character, nor do they know how to talk). How awkward it is when they come to the presentation.

“How difficult is it to learn and speak English? Cricket It’s one job, and handling the media is another. If you can’t speak, I’m sorry, but you won’t be able to express yourself on TV. I want to openly say that Babar Azam should be the biggest brand in Pakistan, but why didn’t he become the biggest brand in Pakistan? Because he cannot speak,” Akhtar had told the news channel.

Meanwhile, Rameez turns harsh on Raja Akhtar. Citing examples of players like Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid, Gavaskar said that no former cricketer from any country would let down his own players.

“Shoaib Akhtar is a confusing superstar. Recently, he also had a dispute with Kamran Akmal. He wants everyone to be a brand, but it is more important to be a human being first. Be a human being first and then be a brand,” Rameez said on BOL Network.

“Our former players bring down our cricket brand by making misleading statements. You will never see this happening in our neighboring country. You would never have seen Sunil Gavaskar criticizing Rahul Dravid. This happens only in Pakistan, where former players professionally do not let others do their job.

When asked whether Shoaib could become the next PCB chief, Raja took a brutal dig and said, “He needs to obtain a bachelor’s degree first to become eligible to chair the PCB.”
