Actor Ramarajan’s team has rubbished rumors that he was unwell and was in critical condition. The actor’s PRO Vijaymurali in a statement clarified that Ramarajan is fine and requested the public not to believe in rumours.
The PRO said that the actor has given his stories for two films and is also preparing himself to act in them. Vijaymurali said that the actor is strong both physically and mentally at the moment. “…Ramarajan is absolutely healthy and healthy, so don’t believe the rumours…. He will soon participate in the launch of a film in which he is going to act.”
Ramarajan acted in ‘Kargattakaran’ and carved a distinct genre for himself. In the late eighties and nineties, he was one of the top heroes of Tamil cinema. He mainly acted in rural-themed films such as ‘Namma Ooru Nalla Ooru’, ‘Enga Ooru Pattukaran’ and ‘Kargattakaran’. All these were blockbuster movies of that time.
Ramarajan has been away from the limelight for the last two decades. The actor-turned-politician makes public appearances when he has to campaign for his party, AIADMK. He has been living alone since his separation from wife Nalini.
In September last year, Ramarajan had tested positive for COVID-19. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment. He had successfully recovered from the virus after a few days.
Ramarajan was last seen in the 2012 film ‘Medha’. Since then he has been living low-profile. He is best known for his performances in ‘Enga Ooru Patukukaran’, ‘Karagattakaran’, ‘Enga Ooru Kavalkaran’ and ‘Paatuku Nan Adimai’ to name a few.
Ramarajan has also directed about 10 films, including ‘Manukketha Ponnu’, ‘Amman Kovil Vasilele’ and ‘Gopura Deepam’, and most of them had village-based themes.
