Tsygankov has been on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs but the La Liga side are calm about his potential departure.

Manchester United are currently looking to rope in Arsenal target Viktor Tsygankov in the ongoing summer transfer window. Spanish newspaper outlet AS have reported that the Red Devils are interested in snooping a deal for the Girona winger.

Tsygankov has been on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs but the La Liga side are calm about his potential departure. Arsenal were the first Premier League side who sounded out his signing, paving the way for Manchester United and Aston Villa’s interest in the player.

As per the same report, Girona are currently trying to manage the ‘siren songs’ that surround Tsygankov and are waiting for their player with ‘open arms’.

Viktor Tsygankov is currently still on holiday after representing Ukraine at the UEFA Euros 2024. The winger has yet to join Girona’s pre-season but the team’s coach Michel has already included him in his plans. Michel even made a special request to the Spanish club’s sporting management at the end of last season. He urged the authorities to not consider a transfer deal for Tsygankov unless the offer was ‘too great to refuse.’

The same report also suggests that Viktor Tsygankov is happy at the club and is not looking for a move elsewhere. He has a contract until 2027 and Girona have Tsygankov’s word that he will start the pre-season as a Rojiblanco player. The club is now looking to renew his contract as they consider him a key piece of Michel’s scheme.

Viktor Tsygankov could also prove to be a major asset for Girona in their campaign for the UEFA Champions League. However, there’s one big problem in his current contract with the La Liga side. As of now, Tsygankov’s release clause is at a mere €30 million which could be easily matched by Europe’s biggest clubs. Earlier this year in January, Girona made an offer to extend their winger’s contract years while also increasing his his release clause. There was no response from the player to the offer at the time but the club would likely want him to reconsider once again.

At the moment neither Manchester United nor Aston Villa have made a formal bid for Viktor Tsygankov. However, the two Premier League sides have contacted the player’s entourage, informing the player they were looking to sign him. Both clubs are looking to convince the player to be able to negotiate a deal with the La Liga side.
