Haseen Dillruba 3 Soon? Taapsee Pannu Drops BIG Hint, Says ‘Kanika Dhillon and I Are…’ | Exclusive – News18

Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is set to release on Netflix on August 9.

Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is set to release on Netflix on August 9.

Taapsee Pannu says her Manmarziyaan character was ‘ideologically totally against’ her. She also talks about what led to her friendship with Kanika Dhillon.

Three years after Haseen Dillruba, Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey are back with the film’s sequel and joining them in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is Sunny Kaushal. Earlier in an interview with us, Sunny said he shares a great bond with Taapsee and quipped that she had invited him to her housewarming party as Vicky Kaushal’s plus-one during the shoot of Manmarziyaan. Now in an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, she talks about her equation with Sunny and expresses her joy on sharing screen space with him for the first time.

She jokes about how he had ‘bullied’ her on the sets of the film and tells us, “Lag raha hai ki kuch toh achcha kiya hoga ki phir se bula liya hai [to be a part of Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba]. We must have done something really good to deserve Sunny. There are rare says of me being nice to him and he should just accept it. And I had invited him personally to my housewarming. I never told Vicky to bring him along as his plus one (laughs)!”

As for Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, it marks her fifth collaboration with Kanika Dhillon after Manmarziyaan, Haseen Dillruba, Rashmi Rocket and Dunki. Talking about this ‘sisterhood’ that began with Manmarziyaan, Taapsee remarks, “We’re just getting more and more scandalous with each other with each passing year. The scandals are increasing exponentially. It started off with Manmarziyaan when she got me to do something that was ideologically totally against me. I never thought I would be able to portray someone like that so convincingly.”

According to her, Kanika’s USP lies in creating ‘grey’ women who call their own shots, something that strongly resonates with her. “I realised that Kanika can make me do anything. The next thing she made me do was Haseen Dillruba, which became a franchise very close to my heart. She writes my kind of relatable women so well. These are the women who’ll make mistakes but will own up to them and will be honest about the fact that they did something wrong,” she points out.

Taapsee further adds, “Their mistakes are never hidden under the garb of heroism. These characters will never say, ‘Arrey, main toh aisi hi hoon’. There’s something very beautiful about Kanika’s protagonists being grey and vulnerable. She has a very unique style of writing. We understand each other very well as a writer-actor duo.”

So, is a third part to Haseen Dillruba on the cards? “I’m not much of a reader like Vikrant and Sunny but I’ll give the book Malice to Kanika for a part three of Haseen Dillruba. Hopefully, Hasseen Dillruba baar baar aati rahegi and kabhi jaaye hi na (laughs). You’ll see a lot of collaborations between me and Kanika in the future as well. Now we’re thinking of so many things that we can do together,” states Taapsee.

Much like its prequel, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba explores intense themes of love and is set for a release on Netflix on August 9.
