Gurugram: The state government has missed the target of vaccinating all teaching and non-teaching Staff So far only 53% of them have received their shots in schools as of September 5.
last month, Federation Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had asked all states to ensure vaccination of teachers on a priority basis, preferably on Teachers’ Day, which Haryana had committed.

According to the education department data, there are 1,039,10 teachers and non-teaching staff in 1,4156 government schools across the state. Of these, 31,953 have been given only the first dose while 23,426 others have been fully vaccinated.
A district-wise report shows that 10 districts have recorded 50% or less vaccination. at 88%, Karnal Tops the list of districts in terms of Vaccination NS School Employees, followed by Charkhi Dadri with 76%. Gurugram ranks third with more than 71 percent of school staff being vaccinated. Of the 4,930 employees of government schools, 1,981 have received the first dose and 1,528 more have completed their vaccinations.
The education department said all employees would be vaccinated in the coming few weeks. “It is important for the teachers coming to the schools to get the vaccine at the earliest for their own safety as well as the safety of the students. we are coordinating with health Department And running a weekend campaign to achieve 100% vaccination status at the earliest,” said District Education Officer Indu Boken.
Districts like Nuh, Palwal, Hisar, Panipat and Faridabad will need to catch up to achieve the same status. Panipat is at the bottom of the heap, with only 29% of school staff vaccinated, followed by Hisar with 30%.
The education department claimed that the vaccination drive has gained momentum and the state will try to ensure that all its employees are vaccinated by the end of this month.
“Special camps are being set up for vaccination of teachers and non-teaching staff. Over the past two weeks, we have been able to make significant progress. For example, about two weeks ago, Gurugram had vaccinated about 65% of its employees. By the end of August, 71% had been vaccinated. Other districts have also shown a similar trend. We have directed district education officers and school heads to ensure vaccination for all staff in the next few weeks,” said a senior education department official.
