Haryana home minister Anil Vij asks Panipat SP to suspend eight cops booked in kidnapping case. Chandigarh News – Times of India

AMBALA: Haryana home minister Anil Vij has instructed the Panipat superintendent of police (SP) to suspend eight police officials posted in Panipat district on Tuesday.
Anil Vij was listening to public grievances at his residence in Shastri Colony, Ambala Cantonment on Tuesday, when he called Panipat SP on his phone and instructed him to immediately suspend eight cops and submit a report.
The officials whose suspension has been sought by the home minister include inspector Virender Singh, Jaibir RanaASI Sumit Dahiya, Rajesh, and three more policemen posted with Panipat crime investigation agency (CIA)-II, and sub-inspector (SI) Subhash posted at Chandni Bagh police station in Panipat.
As per the information, on the complaint of a reader of an additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) of Panipat district court, all concerned eight policemen and one Rajiv Kumar of Patna, Bihar were booked by Haryana police in case 854/2021 under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 364-A (kidnapping for ransom), 365 (kidnapping), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Panipat City police station on December 25, 2021. A Panipat resident, Hira Lal Ahuja had alleged that the accused policemen had kidnapped his son Raj Kumar Ahuja from the district court complex and demanded ransom.
On Tuesday, Hira Lal appeared before the home minister Vij with his grievance that despite the registration of a case against the accused cops, the police are not taking any action against them, and neither, have they been arrested. Hira alleged that his family was being harassed and threatened by the accused cops by using their power.
Speaking to the media, Anil Vij said, “While hearing public grievances, Hira Lal Ahuja of Panipat appeared before me and said his son was kidnapped and a ransom of Rs 25 lakh was taken from him. He (Hira) had lodged a case in the court, which ordered on December 25, to register a case against CIA-II officials. Till date, no action has been taken against the accused officials. , why action has not been initiated yet. I instructed him (SP) to suspend the policemen named in this case with immediate effect and initiate an investigation.”
Anil Vij also marked this complaint in case of kidnapping to Haryana director general of police (DGP). Vij also instructed Panipat SP to form a team headed by a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and two inspectors, to apprehend accused cops.
