The Haryana government on Tuesday presented a budget of Rs 1.77 lakh crore for the financial year 2022-23, as against Rs 1.53 lakh crore in 2021-22.

Presenting the budget in the state assembly, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday announced ‘Sushma Swaraj Puraskar’ for women for their significant contribution or achievements in various walks of life in national and international arenas.

In addition, Khattar, who also holds the Finance portfolio, announced the Haryana Matrushakti Udyami Yojana to provide assistance to women to become entrepreneurs.

He presented his third budget in the state assembly here.

Khattar proposed a budget of Rs 1,77,255.99 crore for the financial year 2022-23, which is 15.6 per cent higher than the budget size of Rs 1,53,384 crore in 2021-22.

Of the budget outlay, 34.4 per cent is Rs 61,057.36 crore as capital expenditure and 65.6 per cent is Rs 1,16,198.36 crore as revenue expenditure.

The debt liability is likely to go up to Rs 2,43,779 crore in the financial year 2022-23 from Rs 2,23,768 crore as of March 2022, which is 24.52 per cent of the Gross State Domestic Product.

“The Sushma Swaraj Award will carry a citation along with a prize money of Rs 5 lakh,” Khattar said.

“Today is International Women’s Day. Today we celebrate the social, economic, sporting, cultural and political achievements of our mother power.

“In the last few years, women of Haryana have made a lot of achievements especially in the field of sports and politics. Late Sushma Swaraj, daughter of Haryana, was an inspiration to all the women of India,” she said in the assembly.

The Chief Minister said that the families whose annual income on the basis of ‘Parivar Pehchan Patra’ (Family ID) verified data is less than Rs 5 lakh and who want to become an entrepreneur in any enterprise, trade or business, will be provided access to soft loans. Will. financial institutions.

Khattar said the loan would be to the extent of Rs 3 lakh for which an interest subvention of seven per cent would be provided for three years through Haryana Mahila Vikas Nigam.

He said that the Department of Women and Child Development would soon give detailed information about this scheme. “I hope this scheme will enable women entrepreneurs to grow and move ahead in the society.”
