According to the information, Gaganjot has been arrested in the case (425/2021) registered under sections 34 (like intent), 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) on the complaint of Avtar Singh of Gumthala Gadhu. and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC at Pehowa Police Station on November 21, 2021.
In his complaint, Avtar alleged that following a rivalry in a case registered against Gaganjot on November 16, 2021, he along with his accomplices rammed his daughter-in-law Swarnjit Kaur with his SUV when she left home for a walk. Was out On the morning of November 17, 2021. He said the front tires of the SUV had passed over Swarnjeet.
Notably, the Kurukshetra police registered two cases at Pehowa on November 16, 2021, after the two sides filed complaints against each other for alleged assault and attempt to murder.
In the first case (422/2021) registered by Avtar, Gaganjot and two others under IPC sections 307, 323, 34, 341 (wrongful restraint), 452 (trespass), and 506 (criminal intimidation) Was. 27 of the Arms Act, for allegedly firing bullets at Avtar and his family members on November 16.
In the second case (423/2021) registered by Gaganjot, Avtar and his son Tarandeep were booked under IPC sections 285 (negligent conduct of combustible substance), 34 and 506 for allegedly setting fire to Gaganjot.
In the first case related to firing against Gaganjot, he had got anticipatory bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the hearing was going on in the second case.
Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Kurukshetra Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Karan Goel arrested Gaganjot.
Gaganjot’s lawyer Karan Chawla said, “The court asked the police to take the opinion of the dentist whether the person (Swaranjeet) has a broken tooth or not. The police sought one day’s time and fixed the hearing for January 17.” According to the FIR, Gaganjot was not even driving the vehicle under which he was made an accused under 307 IPC. The FIR states that the vehicle was being driven by someone else. This is a politically motivated case.”
While Gaganjot’s elder brother Jastej Singh Sandhu reached the court premises during the hearing on Friday and made serious allegations against Pehowa MLA cum Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh of misusing the government machinery to falsely implicate his brother.
Jastej Singh said, “After the registration of this case, we demanded a fair investigation from the government and the administration. Government people including Pehowa MLA-cum-Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh accused my brother of implicating my brother in two false 307 cases. Minister Sandeep is taking us as a challenge while raising his voice against corruption in Pehowa assembly constituency. Rates have been fixed in every office and public knows the running rate of every work. Gaganjot Used to raise these issues and he was active in politics and in an attempt to target him politically, we are being targeted. They are taking us as a political challenge for the future.”
The judge said, “We also supported the farmers during the farmers’ protest and my father always stood for the public.
