Haryana DSP Geetika Jakhar disputes with uncle: Case reaches DGP, State Crime Branch will investigate; Naib Tehsildar brother, both are accused of assault and abuse of position

DSP Geetika Jakhar, resident of Agroha in Hisar district of Haryana and her Naib Tehsildar brother Balram Jakhar, the dispute has reached DGP Prashant Agarwal. Both are accused of breaking into the house of their 88-year-old grandfather and uncle and assaulting them. The DGP has handed over the investigation of the case to the State Crime Branch. The Agroha police themselves have confirmed this.

It has been told that the investigation of this case from Agroha Police has been handed over to the State Crime Branch. In view of the seriousness of the case, the investigation has been given to the State Crime Branch after DSP and Naib Tehsildar were made accused in this entire episode of assault. Geetika’s uncle Prakashveer had also given a complaint to the police against both the siblings for misusing government office.

On August 26, there was a fight between DSP Geetika Jakhar and her uncle Prakashveer Jakhar over the ancestral house. Both the parties had complained to the police accusing each other of assault. Agroha police station had registered a case against both the parties. But no arrest has been made so far.

Panchayat to settle family matter
Uncle Prakashveer has filed a case against Geetika Jakhar, Balram Jakhar, their father Satyaveer Jakhar and four others for assault and forcibly entering the house. Balram Jakhar has filed a case of assault on his uncle and cousins. After registering a case against each other by both the parties, a meeting of both the parties and other family members will be held on Saturday evening to settle the matter in a Panchayati manner.

It is hoped that a settlement can be reached between both the parties and both the parties can withdraw their complaint. At the same time, due to the transfer of this case to the State Crime Branch, the case of misuse of post by the DSP, breaking the law by taking policemen along with them in an on-duty government vehicle can become a problem for them. Departmental action can be taken against DSP Geetika Jakhar for misuse of government office and government property despite the uncle withdrawing the complaint.

The footage of the fight between the two sides had gone viral on social media. Prakashveer had accused the police of working under pressure. Agroha police station had registered a cross case in this matter. According to HPS Priyanshu Dewan, in-charge of Agroha police station, the investigation of this case has been handed over to the State Crime Branch by the DGP.
