Haryana close to 1 crore jobs, but only 5% got two doses. Gurgaon News – Times of India

Gurugram: About one crore people Haryana have received COVID-19 vaccine so far, but the state’s second dose coverage remains extremely low.
The total estimated population of Haryana on the basis of 2011 census is 2.92 crores. 95.1 lakh people or about 32% have received the first dose. A little over 1.6 million people, or only 5.4%, have been fully vaccinated with both doses.
According to Department of Health data, 81,000,329 doses Cowishield Have been administered so far (69,15,225 first dose and 11,85,104 .) second dose) while 14,02,163 have been received covaxin (9,80,823 first dose and 4,21,340 second dose). A total of 7,288 people have received their first dose of Sputnik in the state. Unsurprisingly, the second dose coverage (30%) of Covaxin is higher than that of Covashield (14%) because the difference between the two doses is smaller.
Gurugram accounts for about 16% of the total vaccinations in the state and has so far administered 14,97,131 vaccines. Of these, 12,81,224 people received Covashield (10,90,208 first dose and 1,91,016 second dose) and 2,12,812 others received Covaxin (1,36,464 first dose and 76,348 second dose). A total of 3,095 people received their first dose of Sputnik. Thus, 15.3% of Gurugram’s estimated 17,46,998 population have been fully vaccinated, while 85.5% have received at least one dose.
When asked about the slow pace of second dose coverage, Rajeev Arora, ACS (Health), Haryana said that the state has seen the highest number of vaccinations in the last one month and hence, those who received the first dose were not eligible yet. for the next. “Haryana has also got more coveshield than Covaxin thus many people are still not due for their second jabs. There is a gap of 84 days between the first and second dose of Covishield. Hence, the coverage of the second dose is less,” Arora said.
He said, “We have drawn up a plan for vaccination. We are focusing on rural areas right now and all districts will target more sessions there. The camps will also provide transport to the recipients so that we can get full coverage. 18 There is still a large population in the -44 age group that needs to be vaccinated.”
Arora said that at present the focus is to vaccinate those who have taken the first dose. “We are setting up dedicated vaccination sites across Haryana for those receiving the second dose,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Center on Wednesday directed all states to ensure that private hospitals apply through CO Win for vaccine requirements.
“The vaccine situation will be streamlined within two-three days. Private hospitals that increase demand will get their stock within 48 hours. Manufacturing units can deliver directly to the hospital. We will oversee the entire process,” said Dr Virendra Ahlawat, state vaccination officer.
