Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat has attacked Captain Amarinder Singh for insulting the Congress statement. Rawat said that neither Congress made Amarinder the party president thrice and CM twice. Rawat said that Amarinder should have stood with Sonia Gandhi at this time. They should reject the attempt to make him a mask of BJP. Amarinder should not help Punjab and anti-farmer BJP in direct and indirect way. Harish Rawat also explained the reason for Amarinder Singh’s coup for not working on the issues of Punjab.
Amarinder Singh, after being removed from the CM’s chair, said that he was humiliated. Rawat said the Congress had so far done everything to maintain the honor of Amarinder. Whatever decisions have been taken now are to increase the chances of Congress winning in the next elections. Rawat said that the theory of insulting the Captain is being made to divert the attention of Punjab and the country.

- Promised about sacrilege: Rawat said that the issue of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib oppresses the people of Punjab. This sacrilege was caused by the conspiracy of Akali Dal. Those who raised their voice against it were fired upon. Congress promised in the election that the culprits would be punished. This was said only under the leadership of Captain Amarinder. No matter how great a person is, no one will be spared for dishonesty.
- The matter was not properly placed in the High Court: Unfortunately, the matter was not properly placed in the High Court. Due to which the High Court rejected the government’s side. Due to which the sentiments of Congress MLAs along with Punjab were also hurt. The cabinet and people outside raised questions on Amarinder for not handling the sacrilege issue properly. The party formed a panel of 3 members under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge. He interacted with all the MLAs associated with the politics of Punjab, leaders who contested elections, MPs, former MPs, Youth Congress, Punjab Pradhan and all the leaders.
- Gave Amarinder an 18-point program, did not take action: After this, the 18-point action program was handed over to Amarinder. To which he also agreed. On which a time bound action was expected to be taken. Unfortunately no action has been taken even after a lapse of several months. The panel then spoke to Amarinder. He assured Sonia Gandhi of prompt action through the panel. Still no action was taken, so I went to meet Amarinder. These included 5 major cases of sacrilege and drug mafia. There the officers said that we are taking quick action. Will take action in a week.

By that time there was restlessness among the legislators. 43 MLAs told the Congress President that Amarinder was ignoring all issues. After this we had to take a decision for the betterment of Punjab and the party.
After resigning, Captain Amarinder Singh had spoken of being humiliated.
Sidhu’s feelings will not be compromised
Harish Rawat said that people sometimes say some things in sentimentality. The party is aware of Navjot Sidhu’s sentiments in some cases. No such step will be taken which will compromise his sentiments about Punjab. He has understood these things. He has had a meeting with the CM. I hope the solution of Punjab Congress will be found at the local level itself. He said that talks are going on, the final decision will be informed as soon as it comes.
300 units of free electricity to families soon, concrete steps will be taken in Bargadi case
Harish Rawat said that the government of CM Charanjit Channi has waived off electricity bills of 1200 crores. The connections that were cut have been reconnected. 300 units of free electricity will be announced to all the families in a day or two. After this, government control will be removed from the sand. Due to which people will get cheap sand. Concrete steps will be taken in the next 15-20 days on the issue of bargari and drugs. The Congress party has an absolute majority in Punjab. BJP should not try to topple the government there.
