Hardik Pandya, a versatile genius, has done a great job depending on his game: Sanjay Banga

the former India Batting coach Sanjay Bangar heaped praise on flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya and said that he has all the credentials to bat anywhere in the middle order. Pandya returned to the Indian team after a short hiatus from competitive cricket, which he took after the 2021 T20 World cup.

The 28-year-old made a comeback in the recently concluded match IPL Where he got the opportunity to lead the IPL franchise for the first time and he grabbed it with both hands. He led the new franchise Gujarat Titans to win the IPL title in the first attempt. The season was more about Pandya’s revival where he regained his bowling fitness and showed that he still has a lot to offer in the Indian colours.

Pandya propelled himself up the batting order and displayed his brilliance at No. 3 and 4 where he led his team.

Bangar, who worked closely with Pandya during his coaching stint with the Indian team, spoke about the versatility of the flamboyant all-rounder and said that he paid a lot of attention to the foundation of the game.

“He is an extremely versatile player who has done a great job at the foundation of his game. You can play him at No. 4 and No. 6 too,” Bangar said on Star Sports.

He said, ‘Whenever I used to talk to Hardik, he always used to say that he wants to lay a good foundation, he always paid a lot of attention to it. This is a change. When your game is settled, you can adapt your game according to every situation,” he said.

The former India batting coach further said that batting alongside Mahendra Singh Dhoni has helped Pandya improve his game.

“He (Hardik) is a player who has played the role of a finisher for the Indian team for a very long time. They have shared experiences and partnered with M S Dhoni and other lower order batsmen. So I think he is a versatile player.”

Pandya has returned to Indian colors in the ongoing T20I series against South Africa. Pandya displayed his batting performance in the opening match of the series, where he scored an unbeaten 31* to help India cross the 200-run mark.
