Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot will inaugurate ‘Driverless Train Operation’ on Pink Line of Delhi Metro in the national capital today.

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot will flag off driverless train operation on 57-km Pink Line of Delhi Metro (Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar) through video conferencing today.

In a tweet, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said, “Delhi Metro’s Pink Line (Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar) driverless train operation will be inaugurated on 25th November 2021 (Thursday) at 11:30 am via video conferencing.”

On December 28, 2020 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first driverless train on Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line and launched National Common Mobility Card on Airport Express Line.

“The inauguration of the first driverless metro train shows how fast India is moving towards a smart system. Today the Delhi Metro is being linked with the National Common Mobility Card. A few decades ago, when both the impact of urbanization and the future of urbanization Were clear, the country saw a different attitude,” PM Modi said.

“By the year 2025, we are going to expand it to more than 25 cities. In 2014, only 248 km of metro lines were operational in the country. Today it is almost three times more than seven hundred kms. By the year 2025, we are going to make it 1,700 Trying to increase the kilometer.”
